Questions, answered

Pricing, timelines, hosting, and what you actually own. If your question isn’t here, call — you’ll get a straight answer.

How much does a website cost?

Builds start at $250. That's a one-time cost covering design, build, content setup, and launch. On top of that, hosting and maintenance is $140 a year (or $16 a month), paid directly by you in your own name. Extra languages are $30 each. Add-ons like a digital menu, an online store, or a booking system depend on what you need — call and you'll get a real number, not a range.

What's included in the $140 a year?

Hosting, your SSL certificate, security, backups, and a full year of support. Support means you can call about fixes, small changes, and questions — not a ticket queue. You pay Hostinger directly and the account is in your name, so nothing is held hostage if you ever want to move on.

How long does it take?

Most sites go live in 7 days at the absolute minimum, and longer depending on what you need. A straightforward five-page site for a local business is usually quickest. An online store, a booking system, or a full bilingual build takes considerably longer. The single biggest factor is how quickly you get us your photos and text.

Do I own my website?

Yes, completely. The site files are yours, the hosting account is in your name, and the domain is registered to you. There's no lock-in contract and nothing that stops you taking the site elsewhere. That's deliberate — a website you don't own isn't really an asset.

What do I need to give you to get started?

A rough idea of what your business does and who you want to reach, any photos of your work, your logo if you have one, and your contact details and hours. If you don't have photos or written content, say so — that's normal, and we'll work out how to handle it. You don't need anything technical.

How many revisions do I get?

Two full rounds of revisions are included after you see the first prototype. Small tweaks — a wording change, a swapped photo, a colour adjustment — are always free and don't count against those rounds.

Can I update the site myself?

That depends on what you want to change and we'll set it up accordingly. Things you'll change often, like menu items, prices, or opening hours, can be made editable. For everything else, most small business owners would rather send a text and have it done — which is what the year of support is for.

Will my site show up on Google?

Your site is built so Google can read it properly: clean structure, correct headings, page titles and descriptions, local business markup, a sitemap, and fast load times. That's the foundation, and it's included. Ranking also depends on your competition and your Google Business Profile — which is free, and worth setting up. We'll point you at it.

Do you build bilingual English/French sites?

Yes. A proper second language version, not a browser auto-translation — separate pages with the correct hreflang tags so each language ranks on its own in search. It's $30 per additional language. Arabic and other languages are available too.

Do you build restaurant websites and digital menus?

Yes. The digital menu handles prices, photos, descriptions, daily specials, and allergen labels, and it's built to read well on a phone rather than being a PDF customers have to pinch and zoom. You also get a QR code for tables, your window, and takeaway bags.

Can customers book appointments online?

Yes. This can be a simple request form or a full calendar with your real availability, service types, durations, and automatic confirmation emails. If you already use a booking system you like, we'll usually build around it rather than replace it. Call for pricing.

Do I get business email addresses?

Two business email addresses are included — you@yourbusiness.ca rather than a gmail address. More are available if you need them.

Is my site secure?

Yes. Every site ships with an SSL certificate (the padlock in the browser), forced HTTPS, hardened security headers, and spam protection on all forms. Because the site is hand-written rather than built on WordPress plugins, there's far less to attack in the first place.

What happens after launch?

You get a full year of support included. Call or message about fixes, small changes, or anything that isn't working, and it gets handled. Hosting renews at $140 a year, and after the first year you can carry on with support or just keep the hosting — your choice, no contract.

Do you redesign existing websites?

Yes, and it's a common request. We look at the current site honestly, keep whatever is already working for you in search, and rebuild the rest properly. Existing URLs are preserved or redirected so you don't lose your Google rankings, and the old site is backed up before anything changes.

Do you work outside Ottawa?

Yes. Ottawa is home and most clients are local, but the whole process works fine over phone, WhatsApp, and email, so businesses anywhere in Ontario are welcome.

How do payments work?

You pay for the build only once the site is finished and you're happy with it. There's no deposit to start. Hosting is the one thing you pay before launch, because it goes directly to Hostinger in your name rather than through us.
